About the project

A fictitious advertisement for the short science-fiction film Somnium created at HiNT. The main purpose of this video was to be used as an advertisement in the film, in which the main characters see this groundbreaking VR-service as their opportunity to improve their lives and live out their dreams.

The second purpose for this video was to help promote the cinema release/premiere of this shortfilm. It was featured on our website, facebook-page and twitter-account during the spring 2015.

On the technical side, this project was also a real step-up from what we had previously been doing at HiNT. It was the first project where we really had to focus on combining live-action and CGI. Also it was the first time we worked with resolutions higher than Full HD or 2K, which was a really interesting. Check out the 4K version (with english captions) on YouTube:

We were really happy to get Christian Ingebrigtsen, a well-known norwegian celebrity, along on this project, as it raised the production-value quite a bit, and really gave us a boost in the promotion of the film. He’s originally a singer-songwriter and musician, but he proved to be an excellent actor and was a pleasure to work with.
