The animated student-shortfilm “Solitude”, that I worked on actually won a minor award this week. For best “hi-tech” contribution at NxtTechnoRama.
It was our teacher/program coordinator at HiNT who submitted our shortfilm to the event NxtTechnoRama in Trondheim, which was hosting a small competition for shortfilms and video where “advanced technology” had been used in the production. Since Solitude was a pure CG/3D animation where we used motioncapture for the charaters movement, we were naturally nominated.
We didn’t have that much competition though since it was a rather new event/competition, and it was more directed towards students than professionals.
All nominated contributions was shown during Kosmorama (Trondheim international film festival) on big screen. A small jury of professionals was to select the best contribution to the competition, and they chose our shortfilm.
The main reasons/grounds to why they chose it was because we displayed a good use of the new technology (especially mocap), as well as good overall cinematography.
